Hidden deep within the Mountains of Iraeon is the Temple of Mist. Unlike most others, this temple is not dedicated to a single deity. Instead, there are statues of each god and goddess to have ascended in the history of the world as well as priests and priestesses devoted to each of them. It is a huge structure, built into one of the largest mountains in the region, and can be seen from many miles away. However, reaching this temple is not such an easy task, for the path leading to it is a dangerous one. The journey is long and hard, and those wishing to reach the temple must first endure low temperatures and icy winds, temperatures which are low enough to freeze someone solid very quickly. As they walk the mountain paths, they must also be wary of the wildlife – many of the creatures in these mountains are carnivorous and would not hesitate to turn a person into their next meal. After several days of this, they reach their destination, almost exhausted. But that is not where it ends. Next, they must cross a treacherously narrow pathway, one which is beginning to crumble after all these years, to reach the other side of a huge gorge before finally climbing the few hundred steps that lead to the entrance to a warm and welcoming place.
